If you’ve already booked your trip to Hawai’i, congratulations. You are in for an unforgettable time on some of the world’s most stunning islands. The “Aloha” spirit is alive and well, and it’s quite contagious: you’ll likely operate in a freer and friendlier way when you leave the islands to return home.
I live in Hawai’i, and trust me when I say that it’s impossible to accurately describe the beauty of the islands and the friendliness of the locals; but I can tell you what you should pack and what you can definitely leave behind. (Spoiler alert: you do not need fancy sandals or nice dress shoes.)
Use this guide as your ultimate packing checklist for Hawai’i. And, of course, make sure to pack your everyday travel essentials like your toiletries, a favorite book or two, and a pen to fill out the pre-landing form on the airplane (your seat neighbor will thank you).
