This print captures the elegant curves of the young banana leaf as it sways in the wind, bringing to mind the lush valley of Maunawili on the windward side of O’ahu. Bananas, or Mai'a, are a common sight in the valleys and sheltered areas of the Hawaiian islands, often grown near the well-watered banks of taro fields.

This pareo reminds us of the beauty and practicality of Mai'a, and also reflects the Hawaiian proverb 'A'ohe hua o ka mai'a i ka lā ho'okahi: "Bananas do not fruit in a single day." It's a gentle reminder that great things take time — and that the delicious Mai’a fruit is always worth the wait!

I already have 2 of your Pareos and with this sale, just got 2 more. These are my favorite! The 100% Rayon means quick dryand beautiful drape. But I really love the generous size. Some other brands are not meant for fuller figures, but yours fit wonderfully, feel great and look so pretty. Thank you!

Banana Leaf’s amazing paleo

I had bought a Kalo pareo as a birthday present for a friend. She loved it and I could feel the softness of the fabric and the vibrancy of the pareo's colors when she opened the gift. This time I bought a Maiʻa pareo for myself, since this item was sold out last time. I loved my new pareo with a banana leaf print! As a Brazilian, I can say that a pareo with a banana leaf print not only brings to mind the beach, warmth and joy of the tropics, as the quality and softness are undeniable!

Beautiful color and design

This pareo is beautifully designed and I love the blue shade. The shipping is super fast to Alaska, where I can use it as a scarf. I love having this bit of aloha to remind me of paradise!
